SweetWater Announces Appointment of New GM

SweetWater Music Festival Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Natasha Bood as General Manager effective June 6, 2022. She replaces Paul Eichhorn who notified the Board in March he would be moving on to pursue a new professional opportunity after six and half years with the organization.

“I’m delighted to be joining the team at SweetWater at this exciting time for the organization.  I very much look forward to working with Edwin, the board, and volunteers,” noted Bood.

From 2011-2018, Natasha was the Executive Director of the Toronto Summer Music Festival and Academy.  In 2014, Toronto Summer Music became the first arts organization to win the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Mo Davies Award for excellence in Fundraising, small organizations. Bood was the recipient of the 2015 John Hobday Award in Arts Management from the Canada Council for the Arts.

Prior to Toronto Summer Music, she worked in marketing at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and was later Executive Director of the Regina Symphony Orchestra. She is currently the Executive Director of the Editors Association of Canada and continues in this role concurrently with her new position at Sweetwater.  

Bood holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Regina and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Arts Administration and Cultural Management from Humber College in Toronto. 

Board Chair Vivian McCaffrey welcomed Bood to the SweetWater team.

“Natasha brings a wealth of experience and skills to the General Manager position. We are excited about her joining the SweetWater team and confident she will contribute significantly to the ability of Sweetwater to build on its legacy and succeed in achieving our mission to deliver exceptional music and programs for our audiences.”

Bood will be busy over the coming weeks working with SweetWater Artistic Director, Edwin Huizinga, as they prepare for SweetWater 2022, September 15-18 in Meaford and Owen Sound. The full September Festival programme will be announced in June and Festival Passes and tickets will go on sale in late June.
